THE Zale Fayre and beer festival in South Zeal is just around the corner, with fun for the whole family. The event kicks off with the South Zeal Summer Masquerade Ball, now in its eighth year, on Friday, July 4. Held in the surroundings of the village recreation ground in a large marquee, there will be a waiter served three course meal and dancing to midnight. Following the summer ball the marquee will host the South Zeal Beer Festival on Saturday July 5 and Sunday July 6. This popular event will have entertainment for the whole family. Those attending for the drink can enjoy a full bar serving real ale and cider among other drinks. The Zale Fayre takes place on Saturday afternoon from 2pm to 5pm, with plenty of entertainment for the whole family. A family disco with BBC Radio Devon's Matt Woodley on Saturday evening from 6pm to 10pm promises a fun night for everyone. On the Sunday, the tent hosts the beer festival from noon until 6pm, with live music throughout the day. For more information, call Vickie Mills on 01837 840886.
