A PARTY with a South African theme will be hosted by Inspiration (Church of the Nations ? Okehampton) later this month to say farewell to one of Inspiration?s worship team.
The South African party aims to raise funds for Inspiration?s Mission Fund as well as serving as a farewell party to Leah Bourne, who has been an active member of Inspiration?s worship team for the last three years, and Sean Schofield.
Both Leah and Sean will be leaving later this month to visit the Victory Masters Commission Missions Training Centre in Jeffrey?s Bay, South Africa. There they will receive a year of training in church and missions work. The VMC training centre is an internationally recognised facility offered through Church of the Nations International.
Inspiration church minister, Mike Davies, said: ?It will be a life changing experience for both Leah and Sean. I have visited the training centre in South Africa on a few occasions and will be there again in March of this year. It is an intense training course that they have signed up for and I understand South Africa is currently experiencing blistering heat. That in itself will be difficult for the two of them to cope with.?
He said once on the course their training will include trips into other countries from the base in South Africa, which would be likely to include some extremely hard work in Zambia.
Both Leah and Sean are being partly supported by the Inspiration Mission?s fund but the majority of the cost is being met by them personally.
The evening of entertainment is open to all and the organisers are hoping to encourage as many people as possible to attend. There will be a South African buffet, licensed bar and live music.
The South African Evening takes place on Saturday, January 10, in the Charter Hall, Market Street, Okehampton, starting at 7.30pm.
