RETIRING Callington council workman Roger Denley was given a surprise send off by council members and staff, family and friends in the town hall on Tuesday.

Mr Denley has worked for the council for 23 years and was well known for turning his hand to anything that needed doing. He was presented with a digital camera as a retirement gift — portreeve Karen Gold said he would be greatly missed.
