MEMBERS and friends at Tamar Valley Methodist Church journeyed to Eagle House Hotel, Launceston, on Sunday for a farewell lunch. It was held after the morning service and was arranged as a thank you to John and Joan Forrest of Gunnislake, who will be leaving the area shortly to live in Exmouth. Both have been heavily involved during the building of and since the opening of the church. Joan has been a valued member of the fundraising committee and John has been a member of the building committee and commissioning committee, of which he was the convenor. Since the opening, John has also been convenor of the management committee and honorary caretaker. The service was conducted by Louise James, of Callington, and organist was Joan Bose. Lessons were read by Fred Davies, Sylvia Kendall and Chris Hunn.
