STAFF at the Okehampton branch of Specsavers Opticians raised pounds for pups last weekend by coming to work in fancy dress. Staff donned comic book character costumes for a day to raise funds for Guide Dogs for the Blind. Julia Peggs, store director at Okehampton, said: ?We are delighted to be able to support this charity which carries out invaluable work within the local community.? It costs £10 a day to train, breed and support each guide dog throughout its lifetime, with no Government funding. Staff at the store had great fun during a week of fundraising, which included a shades day and a coffee morning as well as a range of activities at Okehampton Show. The events raised more than £200 for the charity.
