KEEN sporting people or those that would like to 'have a go' can take part in a fundraising athletics day at Tavistock College at the end of this month. Tavistock Community Sports Centre and Tavistock Athletics Club are joining forces to put on a sporting event for all the family, involving three athletics events at the college track and raising money for Tavistock College's Solar Schools project — a bid to raise £20,000 to install solar panels on the college roof. The athletics day will take place on Saturday, June 28 and will give participants the opportunity to try out different athletic events in an informal but structured setting. Times and athletic events are yet to be confirmed.
