THE father of a missing boy found by the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team last year has presented the group with a cheque for £1,000. Kevin Sullivan and his son Liam visited the rescue centre at Tavistock last weekend to present the money, which Kevin had raised by taking part in the Great West Run in May. The money will be divided between the three rescue team sections that took part in the search for Liam. Liam, then aged eight, went missing from a woodland camp near Chulmleigh last October during a game of hide and seek. Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team joined the massive police search operation involving helicopters and tracker dogs. It was Tavistock DRG section members Rhodri Davey and Paul Hudson found Liam ? who had been missing for 27 hours in appalling weather, had survived a fall in a fast-flowing stream and spent a night alone in the woods with bare feet and without waterproofs. Liam was on the verge of hypothermia, but responded very quickly and has now fully recovered. He has fond memories of his ride in the police helicopter and the deer he saw in the woods. Kathryn Blackie, fundraising officer for the group, said they were absolutely delighted to receive the money, which would enable them to buy some lightweight casualty bags.
