A TALENTED sporting family from Tavistock have been selected to play football, rugby and athletics for Devon. Kirsty and Euan McCall both attend Tavistock College and Fiona McCall attends Tavistock Primary School. Euan has been selected to play football for Devon Under 18s ? he is the youngest in the group being only 16, having missed the Under 16 trials. The selectors, who watch games and pick the best players, did not realise he was 16 until after they had chosen him for the team. Kirsty, 13, has been chosen to play rugby for Devon Under 14s. She used to enjoy playing mixed rugby under 12 but above that age there are no mixed teams. She decided to take a year out until her mother, Mari, started a girls? under 14 rugby team and an under 16. And Fiona, 10, has been selected for the soft indoor javelin event for the Devon under 11 athletics team. Mari said the children have always been into sports even before they could walk. ?I am very proud of them,? she said.
