THE 25th anniversary of the Falklands war will be marked in Belstone on June 1 with a talk, slides and video footage of the unique scenery and wildlife of the Falklands Islands. Belstone resident Ian Solomon visited the islands in 2002 and will be giving the presentation, which starts at 7.30pm in the village hall. Admission and refreshments in the interval will be free. However, donations will be invited to Belstone Village Hall kitchen refurbishment fund. The evening is one of a series of occasional presentations by local travellers, wildlife observers and photographers.
