THE plant and craft fair will return to the Finch Foundry this Saturday, June 22 after a year's absence due to the foot and mouth crisis.
The foundry is one of the last remaining water-powered forges in the country and has been run as a museum, becoming part of the National Trust in 1994. Custodian Elisabeth Chard said it was good to see all the fun of the fair back after the a year away.
Many different types of craft and plants will be on sale, and crafts on show will include the foundry's own blacksmith, who will be making goods on site all day.
All plants for sale will be peat-free as the National Trust has a peat-free policy.
Normal admission charges will apply to the foundry, where regular demonstrations of the machinery in action take place. The roundhouse tearoom will be open serving drinks, light meals and home-made cakes and entry to the gift shop and tearoom will be free.
For more information or to book one of the remaining pitches, contact Elisabeth Chard on 01837 840046.
