THE fun of the fair returns to Simmons Park on May 6 for the May Fair, organised by the Okehampton Rotary Club.
Visitors hunting out a bargain or two can enjoy a morning car boot sale from 10am. For those looking to sell some bargains, each car costs £5 upon entry.
Mayor Maureen McDonald will officially open the fair at noon. Throughout the afternoon, visitors will be able to enjoy stalls, fairground rides, and refreshments, as well as a licensed bar.
Traditional fair attractions including skittles and cookery demonstrations will also run alongside the stalls run by local organisations and groups.
Music will be performed throughout the afternoon by the Okehampton Silver Band and Wren Music.
The popular dog show makes a welcome return, inviting dog lovers to show off their beloved canine companions.
The duck races also return, starting at 2pm. Entrants have the chance to pocket £100 for winning any of the three races, with £30 for second place and £10 for third place.
Don't be dismayed if you choose a slow duck, as the last duck to finish will win £5. Tickets are available for the race on the day or from Rotary Club members.
There are still a small number of pitches for stalls available. If you would like one, call Rotary Club member Allenton Fisher on 01837 52238, or e-mail [email protected]">[email protected]
