A DOG show, archery, gun dog display, ferret racing and a clay pigeon shoot are just some of the activities on offer at a special country fair being held in Hatherleigh this weekend. The Country Fair and Clay Pigeon Shoot has been organised by Susie and Rupert Lascelles in aid of the Exeter Leukaemia Fund and takes place between 10.30am and 5pm on Saturday July 16 at The Old Station House. In addition to the shooting and various displays, there will be an inter-pub tug of war, various stalls, a refreshments tent, bar, shops, an art gallery and a variety of children?s activities on offer. Entry to the fair costs £5 which includes free entry into the prize draw, the first prize of which is an all-expenses paid theatre trip to London. Second prize will be a tour for two around Rosemoor Gardens near Torrington. Peter Wallace, fundraising officer for the ELF, said the scenic site of the Old Station House was an ?ideal venue? for a country fair. ?We are very grateful to Susie and Rupert for hosting this event, which I hope will get the support it deserves,? he said. Profits raised from the day will go towards the £425,000 required each year to continue to support leukaemia sufferers in the area and develop new services for patients and their families.
