THE Mary Tavy community has this month been given a chance to express their own views and opinions on the issues affecting the village. A community plan steering committee has been set up in the village with the aim of producing a community plan. This will include an action plan for the village covering the next five years — putting the area into a better position to influence local and national government in determining its future. In order to complete the plan the committee held an open day to find out the villagers' views. The information collected from everyone who attended will help the committee to identify all the issues, which will then form the basis for a more in-depth consultation — a questionnaire to every household in Mary Tavy.
