AN eight-year-old from Northlew helped do her bit for charity when she organised a coffee morning last month.

Ezmie Bolt joined members of the Northlew Methodist Sunday School when they held a coffee morning at the Methodist hall on February 20.

Visitors enjoyed browsing cake and toiletry stalls at the event, which raised a total of £510.

Members of the Sunday school expressed thanks Ezmie and to everyone who helped organise the coffee morning.

A cheque was last week presented to Ron Carter of Okehampton Rotary Club during the 50/50 shop opening hours — the money will be enough to buy a ShelterBox for the Haiti disaster appeal.

Tony Lobley, of Hatherleigh Rotary Club, brought along a ShelterBox to the shop so everyone could see the contents, which include a ten man tent, cooking equipment, tools, medical supplies and a kit for children.
