I AM writing to thank the people of Tavistock for their extraordinary contributions to the parish church Gift Day, which was held last Saturday week in Bedford Square.
Despite the bitterly cold conditions, £2,000 was pressed into our hands during the course of the day, and gift-aid will take the total nearer £2,500. I am extremely humbled and touched by this amazing amount: the kindness of people has been overwhelming, and I am very, very grateful indeed.
With warmest best wishes,
Michael Brierley
Priest-in-charge
A HUGE thank you must go out to the Horrabridge Cavaliers who generously donated £400 to help support the 2013 Son-Rise Cup Football Festival.
Also another big thank you to the ever popular Francis Jasper from the Union Inn, who on his 65th. birthday held a raffle for the Son-Rise Cup and raised £234 to help the cause.
These generous donations are very humbling and it helps gear up the next event to reach its best potential!

I WOULD like to thank all those people who have so kindly offered us help with gardening equipment following on from the recent article in the Times.
So far we have been given plant pots, planting pot grids, strawberry plants, and a selection of spades, forks and hoes, as well as other exceptionally generous offers to help us teach students how to grow their own food - thank you all!
This is a big ongoing project and I anticipate it will take time to complete: but we are already starting to make a difference, thanks to the efforts of the students in lessons and to the help of these generous donors.
