WALKHAMPTON Market and coffee shop continues to be a popular venue on a Saturday from 10am to noon, as residents enjoy coffee and home-made cake before shopping for local meat, bread, eggs and vegetables and browsing the Traidcraft, plant, charity and craft stalls.

The coffee shop has been able to buy a new instant water boiler for the village hall and donate well over £1,000 to hall funds.

In addition to the usual stalls, there will be extra stalls every Saturday in December until Christmas, including gifts in recycled wood, new books for children at low prices, garden ornaments and jewellery.

There will be carols with members of Stannary Brass Band this Saturday, December 5. And at the last market before Christmas, on December 19, there will be a party atmosphere with carols with Nick Shutt and his guitar, free mulled wine and mince-pies and biscuits for children to ice.
