SHOPPERS at Morrisons in Tavistock were greeted by volunteers at the check-out last weekend at a fundraising bag-packing event for the Hugs for Henry Appeal.

As well as bag packers at the tills, the Woolwell Drummers entertained people outside the store and other volunteers went around with collection buckets.

The event raised £1,213 for the appeal, which aims to raise money for treatment for three year-old Henry Hallam who is suffering from cancer.

Another fundraising event — Fitness Blast — will be held at Burrator Reservoir on June 30. The event costs £5 to join in and there will be food and drinks and lots of fun activities going on. Organisers of the bag packing event expressed thanks to the Woolwell Drummers, Pearce's Garage in Gunnislake and Morrisons for their support.
