A PLAY entitled 'A Father for my Son' is being performed at Clearbrook Village Hall this Saturday.

This unique production tells the story of Kathleen Scott, wife of the Antarctic explorer, Captain Scott.

The role of Kathleen is played by actress Jenny Coverack, and the play is co-written by Jenny with Robert Edwards of Tavistock.

The play tells of Kathleen's life before she married Captain Scott, the birth of her son Peter — the renowned ornithologist of Slimbridge fame — their preparation for her husband's journey and the poignant time waiting for news during his ill-fated voyage to the South Pole, relived through his letters to her.

The performance will start at 8pm and tickets cost £6.
