AN event intended to give practitioners, enthusiasts and advisors an insight into issues and new developments around fruit and nut production will be held for the first time in the Tamar Valley.
Fruit Focus-South West is run by the Eden Project in partnership with the Tamar Valley Area of Natural Beauty, and includes a programme of talks and workshops led by a number of local and international experts.
The event, being held at The Old Chapel in Calstock, will be launched by Stéphanie Hudin, a scientific project manager in the Loire team of the Fédération des Conservatoires d'Espaces Naturels. She plays an active role in the Breton Apple Society 'Les Mordus de la Pommes' (The Crunch of the Apple).
Stéphanie will also present the work and aims of Brittany's Pomology society.
The event takes place on Tuesday October 26 from 9.30am to 4pm.
Booking is essential. Tickets cost £10, which includes a locally sourced lunch and cider tasting.
