A LUNCHTIME fashion show with exclusive viewings of two collections went on offer in West Devon last week. The Lady Taverners Devon and Cornwall Region Fashion Show was held at The Moorland Links Hotel in Yelverton. Lesley Forrest, chairman of The Lady Taverners Devon and Cornwall Region and her committee offered a lunchtime show exclusively previewing the spring/summer collections of Sarah Hanafee of Danielli's and Jane Williams of Juste Moi's. The show was accompanied by The Neil Maya Jazz duet — the £1,300 raised went to Lady Taverners' funds. Margaret Price, director of The Lady Taverners, said: 'The Lady Taverners raise thousands of pounds every year to provide specially adapted sporting equipment, wheelchairs and minibuses for young people to enjoy sport and other leisure activities. 'It is wonderful to be able to enjoy these events and help spread the unique Lady Taverners blend of fun and fundraising.' During 2007 grants awarded in the Devon and Cornwall region included two specially adapted minibuses, nine non-turf pitches totalling £16,800 and £20,000 donated to the Indoor Cricket Centre at Exeter University. Founded in 1987, The Lady Taverners is a fundraising arm of The Lord's Taverners, the famous sporting charity which raises more than £1.5-million each year to give young people, particularly those with special needs, a sporting chance.
