THIS week offers the last chance for youngsters in the Okehampton area to enrol in an exciting programme to improve their employment opportunities.
The Team programme for 16 to 25 year olds is a 12-week personal development course run by the Prince's Trust. The project offers young people the chance to improve their career opportunities through two weeks of work experience, career advice, community projects, and practical skills.
Participants in the Okehampton programme will take part in an action-packed residential week on Dartmoor, culminating in a nationally recognised qualification that could improve employment options. The programme does not affect Jobseeker's allowance payments
Organisers are looking to recruit around 15 individuals, particularly aiming to help young offenders, people leaving care, educational underachievers and the long-term unemployed. However, all applications from anyone looking to improve their CV and acquire new skills will be warmly welcomed.
The course starts on Tuesday May 8 and concludes on Friday July 27.
To enrol or for more information on how you could benefit from the course, call team leader Alex Cooley on 07595 206524 or Torridge Training Services on 01237 479491.
