THIS was a good-natured, disciplined, pre-season warm up.
Both teams started well, with Tavistock applying early pressure, to no avail. Marjons consolidated and responded with three goals in quick succession; however Tavistock's heads were lifted by a goal by Chris Vinson. Marjons replied with a goal just before half time.
Straight from the start of the second half, Tavistock scored from an aerial from Chris Vinson to Josh Cowen-Darcey, who beat the keeper and slipped the ball to Ollie Richards for an easy tap in. The gap was narrowed with a reverse-stick strike from Carl Jeffery to make it 4-3. Unfortunately Marjons grabbed a late goal and the game ended 5-3.Player of the match was James Barratt.
