FOLLOWING the launch of the Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) supporter group in Okehampton nine months ago, some £3,000 has been raised.

Spurred on by the magnificent response from the people of Okehampton, the group has organised two fundraising events for September, which it is hoped will take the total amount raised to more than £5,000.

The first event is a family dog show on September 4 which includes dog jumping, welly throwing, stalls, refreshments and a raffle at Burden Farm, Broadbury.

Hatherleigh Jazz takes place on September 17 at Hatherleigh Community Centre with the Steve Tucker All Star Jazz Band returning for another excellent night of entertainment.

Tickets, priced at £5, can be purchased at Hatherleigh Community Centre, Hatherleigh Post Office or on the door.

There will be refreshments and a bar.

Exeter Leukaemia Fund supports the work of the haematology centre at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital by providing funds for patient care, state-of-the-art equipment and research.
