AN EVENING of Cornish music and stories will be on offer at Callington Town Hall next month.
Mike O'Connor and Barbara Griggs make breathtaking music on fiddle, concertina, harp and viol. They have a repertoire, some original and much from newly discovered Cornish manuscripts.
Mike is well known for his evocative songs, such as 'Carrying Nelson Home' and his iconic folk operas 'Cornish Lads', 'Unsung Heroes' and 'The Cry of Tin'.
He is also a well-respected storyteller, with a deep knowledge of Cornish legends and folk tales, and a mesmerising skill with language, all leavened with wit and humour.
The evening will be relaxed and highly entertaining, a blend of fact, fiction and music that has been described as a 'balm for the soul'.
