ORGANISERS say this year's Tavistock Food and Drink Festival will be a shoppers' paradise with an even wider range of produce available. The festival is accepting a couple of local exhibitors who are offering non regional food but who deserve the opportunity to 'spice up' the produce and taste available to visitors. From Brentor, local importer and Pannier Market trader Carol Ellis-Lizana will be showing off her Spanish olives, olive oil and ceramics. From Plymouth ML Thai Foods will be cooking Thai curry, noodles, spring rolls and pork on bread using local produce wherever possible.  This year's festival will be a true focus on how everyone can reduce their food miles by shopping directly from local producers.  A particularly strong show this year will be local cheeses and more than 100 different cheeses will be available at the festival. And when you have stocked up on cheeses you can select pickles and chutneys from more than seven regional craft producers.  Master Chef Peter Gorton said he was really excited this year about his new team of celebrity chefs who will attend the event. He is promising some very exciting personal news which will become public in early August — the festival may even be an opportunity for Peter to make an announcement.
