THE sixth annual six-a-side football tournament played at Fillace Park, Horrabridge, took place on Saturday.
Three times reigning champions Ernesettle were dethroned as Morley Cars I took the honours.
With four groups of seven, the top two in each group contested the Champions Cup and third and fourth place contested the Supplementary Cup.
The standard was high and most of the local teams finished out of the first four in their group and so did not progress into the knockout stages, the exception being Yelverton who topped their group and went into the Champions Cup. They lost 1-0 in the quarter-finals to eventual finalists PPI News from Ivybridge.
Reigning champions Ernesettle were knocked out in the finals and Morley Cars I claimed the Champions Cup and perpetual shield with a hard fought and entertaining 2-1 victory over PPI News.
Kevin Purdy I emerged as Supplementary Cup winners with goals from Steve Robinson and Wayne Tregenza beating DML 2-0 in the final..
