THE Oxfam bookshop in Tavistock is one of a small number of Oxfam shops in the country that will now be selling Resurgence Magazine.
The magazine is edited by Satish Kumar, who said the magazine is 'where you'll find positive, informed and original perspectives on environmental issues, engaged activism, philosophy, arts, ecology, spiritually and ethical living'.
Satish Kumar is a long standing supporter of Oxfam and visited both Oxfam shops in Tavistock last year, spending time with the staff, volunteers and the customers who came to meet him.
He explained that he was keen to see the collabo-ration with Oxfam develop as both Resurgence and Oxfam have complimentary objectives — Oxfam focuses on world development issues and social injustice, while resurgence has a great environmental concern.
The magazine is generally only available on subscription, but the Oxfam Bookshop will be selling the magazine direct to the public.
Twenty-five per cent of the sales will go to Oxfam and it is also possible to pick up a form to take out an annual subscription, from which Oxfam will gain £5.
The magazine is bi-monthly and there will always be a display copy to look at in the shop.
