AFTER last year's successful launch of Dartfest, Dartmoor-based Med Theatre is this week hosting the annual festival of young people's plays for a second year.

The evening, on Saturday December 6, will comprise two very different halves. The first half will see a new one act play, Deceased Truth, an 'on-the-edge-of-your-seat' detective story about a woman who meets trouble on Dartmoor, exploring themes such as murder, love, jealousy and even vampires!

In contrast the second half is a revival of the acclaimed comic play Shakespeare on Dartmoor that MED Theatre's Wild Nights Young Company performed in Ashclyst Forest as part of the National Trust's Revolution '08 Festival in September.

MED Theatre encourages young people to create their own work from idea to performance — both plays are written, directed and performed by the young people themselves.

Dartfest 08 will take place at 7.30pm at Moretonhampstead Parish Hall. Tickets to the performance are £6 adult, £4 child or concession.
