Carlsberg South Western League Tavistock 1 St Blazey 1 THE Lambs were full value in gaining a point off the current champions in this entertaining game. Had the woodwork not came to St Blazey?s rescue on more than one occasion they could have got all three. The home side had the better of the first half with Shane Krac seeing his effort deflected on 15 minutes with keeper Nathan Murphy palming away a Glynn Hobbs shot moments later. Chris Menhinick headed wide from a John Gosling corner but the Lambs should have gone ahead after 25 minutes when Murphy spilt Hobbs?s fierce drive only for Dave Hallett to smash the rebound against the cross bar. It was the visitors who came out the stronger for the second half and despite Will Stringer hitting the bottom of an upright for the home side St Blazey went ahead on the hour. It was a high ball down the flank that was not cleared for Glynn Hooper to get to the by-line and squeeze it across goal for Ian Gosling to force it over the goal line. But the Lambs were not going to be denied a share of the spoils and deservedly got back on level terms with 13 minutes remaining. A free kick out wide on the left by Menhinick was swung in high and in the melee Mark Vercesi handled for Stringer to step up and send Murphy the wrong way from the spot.
