PARENTS and friends of children at Bere Alston Primary School enjoyed a superb afternoon and evening of entertainment involving music, dance and drama performed by the pupils at the end of the summer term.
The programme was divided into two parts and began with performances by the recorder groups and wind band, including solos by Davine Flanagan, Laura Graeme-Drury, Ann Jones, David Wright and Sam Campbell-Hingston.
The Jenny Mewes Ballet School performed a presentation of Cinderella, there was a comical ?Whodunnit? by the school drama club and songs from Jonah Man Jazz by the school choir.
The second half of the programme was an ambitious but highly successful musical version of Macbeth by pupils from Year 6, with Ben Kingwell in the title role and Viccii Todd playing Lady Macbeth.
Andrea Bradshaw, deputy headteacher, said: ?All performances were excellent and the audiences were full of praise, especially for the effort by all members of year 6, led by Lesley Wright, the music co-ordinator and Maria Speller, drama co-ordinator.
?All the children enjoyed the performances and although tired, were totally elated by their success.?
