MORE than 400 people joined the West Devon Borough Council customer service, planning and recycling staff during the recent Edwardian and Dickensian Evenings in Okehampton and Tavistock. As well as mince pies the staff, who entered into the festivities by dressing in period costumes, handed out free prize draw questionnaires to their visitors. 150 questionnaires, asking about the customer service centres in both Okehampton and Tavistock, and recycling throughout the borough, were completed and entered into the draw. Prizes were donated by Waitrose (a hamper), Leisure Connection (a year's membership), Morrisons (chocolates), The Wharf and Merlin Cinema (cinema tickets), and West Devon Borough Council (compost bins and books). Edwardian winners, all from Okehampton, were: David Powell (hamper), Angela Dennis (gym membership at Parklands) and Louis Baycock (cinema tickets). Dickensian winners: Mandisara Bushell, Tavistock (year's membership at Meadowlands), Linda Wheeler, Tavistock (chocolates), Kate Andrews, Peter Tavy (cinema tickets), Nick Thurlow, Princetown, and Catherine Booth, Tavistock (composters) and Ann Jeffries, Bere Ferrers (books).
