THERE was a real flavour of Scotland in Okehampton last Saturday when the Friends of All Saints Parish Church held a successful Burns' Night supper party.

The event saw 70 people enjoy the traditional reciting of Robert Burns' poem, Address to a Haggis, followed by the humorous Toast to the Lassies and response to the toast speeches.

Local piper Andy Buchanan, dressed in full Highland regalia, provided the music, for singing and dancing.

The Friends of All Saints expressed thanks to Waitrose, which contributed the haggis. They also thanked everyone who contributed in any way to make the evening so successful.

The event raised around £650 for funds to maintain the fabric of the parish church.
