AGE Concern will be hosting a meeting in Okehampton next week to outline ways later life can be made a 'fulfilling and enjoyable' experience. Age concern has asked Peter Barton, the chair of Age Concern Tiverton and a partner in the Trusts and Estates department at Ashfords Solicitors, to talk at the informal evening meeting. Mr Barton will principally talk about equity release and the possibilities of doing this without the loss of existing benefits. He will also talk on the issues of capital gains tax and wills. Mr Barton said he is concerned that people should be aware of their rights and some of the opportunities open to them in making later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience. The meeting will take place on Tuesday March 4 at 7pm in the Exeter Arms, Okehampton. Free refreshments will be available and the meeting is open to anyone interested in learning more.
