THE spirit of adventure is alive and well in Tavistock, as polar explorer Pen Hadow found out last weekend, when he led an adventure open day in the grounds of Mount House School.
Children learnt skills such as fire-lighting and cooking, creating their own kebabs and toasted marshmallows, the art of camouflage to watch and observe wildlife in the woodland hillside, shelter building, knot making and model boat building at the School Lake.
