THE clock is ticking down towards Tavistock Food Festival and there are plenty of extra events being planned for the big event, in conjunction with Children's Hospice South West. In addition to the wide range of stalls, cookery demonstrations and tastings, there is a special 'kitchen tip' competition — simply write down your favourite nifty kitchen tip and hand it in to the chef's marquee on either the Saturday or Sunday. The event, which costs £5 per head, includes a demonstration by Masterchef Peter Gorton and music by singer/songwriter Rosa Rebecka and Cheryl Stead. Bring your own picnic — chairs and tables will be provided. Entry costs £1 — the judging takes place in the afternoon so all entries should be received by noon and there will be prizes for the winners.
