THE third annual West Devon 'Food Heaven' Fortnight, organised by the borough council, is ready to go. The fortnight, from Saturday July 12 to Sunday July 27, is an ideal platform for local businesses to showcase their local produce and there's special mouth-watering offers for everyone to enjoy. The many food fortnight events this year include: l Cream teas and a guided walk from the Royal Oak in Meavy l A sheep, goats, buffalo and 'good old' cows' cheese tasting at Country Cheeses in Tavistock l Enjoying home-made food at the flower festival in Peter Tavy l Cooking demonstrations at Okehampton Farmers' market l A free bottle of wine with every meal for two at the Drewe Arms in Drewsteignton. The food fortnight is held during the run up to the Tavistock Food and Drink Festival which takes place during the last weekend in July. A leaflet about the food fortnight, promoting the many special offers and events happening throughout, is available from the b­orough council's office in Kilworthy Park, Tavistock, the customer services centre in St James Street, Okehampton, or in either of the tourist information centres in Tavistock and Okehampton.
