THE?importance of local food production will be highlighted at a meeting in Tavistock tonight (Thursday).
Paul Sousek, of Cottage Farm, Jacobstow, will be at the Parish Rooms to share the journey he and his family have undertaken in developing their business.
Cottage Farm (http://www.CottageFarmOrganics.co.uk">www.CottageFarmOrganics.co.uk) is a sustainable organic carbon-neutral farm powered by renewable energy, producing organic beef and lamb. Deliveries of the produce, locally and to London, are by carbon-neutral transport.
Paul will be joined by other local producers, including Rosie and Paul Yells from Wonnacott Farm and Laura and Jim from Tregillis Farm, who recently supported a successful trial of community grown organic potatoes.
The event is being hosted by Transition Tavistock and all are welcome and can bring along pictures and/or examples of their produce.
Doors open at 7pm. For further information see the website http://www.transitiontavistock.org.uk">www.transitiontavistock.org.uk or contact Kate Royston on 07969 569444 or Chris Simpson on 01822 614917.
