WAITROSE staff in Okehampton joined together to mark being part of a partnership for the recent Employee Ownership Day. The day aims to raise awareness of the benefits of being a co-owned business for employees, other local businesses and the wider community in Okehampton. To mark the day partners (employees) at the Okehampton store shared a beach-themed event in their dining room and celebrated the work achieved through partner volunteering and Community Matters. Charlotte Tucker, personnel manager at Waitrose Okehampton, said: 'Waitrose has embraced co-ownership for more than 75 years, so there is a great belief in the long-term success and stability of this business model. 'It's not just the value and progression that individuals can get from working with us, but there's considerable benefit to the local community as well. We're proud to have celebrated Employee Ownership Day in our own way.'
