A persistent angler has finally hooked his prize catch after several years of trying.

Fred Chambers, who works for Okehampton Taxis, has visited Kenya eight times on holiday to go marlin fishing. On his first seven visits, he had yet to catch one of the elusive fish.

But he struck it lucky twice on his recent eighth holiday, as he netted his first marlin and followed that up by catching a spectacular sailfish.

Fred was delighted with his catch, and is hoping to visit Kenya again soon.
