AS part of the overall new Tavistock Edge Festival, the inaugural 'Knitting on the Edge' meeting held recently was deemed a huge success.
The room was full of those interested to knit and crochet to make the town a more colourful place during the week of the Edge festival, from July 11 to 18.
Those involved were determined to show that knitting and art can be fun.
Organisers plan to get as many knitted or crocheted eight-inch squares made as possible to then sew together and decorate a prominent public place in July.
Completed squares can be dropped off at Knitting Korner in Pepper Street or at Yarns of Tavistock in West Street. All squares will be used — any colour, any wool, any pattern.
Edge members would be keen to hear from anyone interested in getting involved. The wool amnesty is continuing and Yarns of Tavistock is the place to take any spare wool.
Anyone who would like to find out more or get involved can call Val Sharpe on 01822 614230 or Caroline Atkinson on 01822 616049 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
