HUNDREDS of students from Okehampton College will be getting World Cup fever this week as they participate in the recording of a pop single being released to celebrate England?s participation in next year?s finals in Germany. The students will be joining tens of thousands of other teenagers from across the country in performing a football chant which will be incorporated into a pop single. The recording for the track, entitled We Are England, takes place tomorrow (Friday) at 2pm. The song has been written and recorded by young English pop band Ricky, who recently enjoyed chart success with their debut single, Stop Knocking The Walls Down. More than 200 schools from across the country are getting involved with the project. Each school is recorded separately, before they are amalgamated using digital technology. The chant consists of the word ?EASY? being repeated over and over again and will form the outro of the single. The chant has been made hugely popular by Sky Sports? hit comedy/football show, Soccer AM. The tournament may still be six months away but the single is already available to be pre-ordered from the website of the HMV record chain at http://www.hmv.co.uk">www.hmv.co.uk The band are releasing the single to coincide with the beginning of the tournament and are hoping fans will take up the song as they cheer on Wayne Rooney, David Beckham, Michael Owen and the rest of the team. England are currently joint third favourites for the competition at 7-1 along with hosts Germany and Italy.
