YELVERTON fire crew were called when a man burned rubbish at four in the morning at Dousland on Thursday week. A neighbour summoned the firefighters after waking and smelling smoke and seeing the bonfire. But the man, who had been unable to sleep, had the fire under control and the firefighters were not needed. Firefighters were also called to extinguish a gorse fire at the aerodrome on Saturday night.
