TWO East Cornwall pensioners are busy preparing for a gruelling challenge in support of Macmillan Cancer Care.

Terry Bolt, of Callington, and Jeff Hearn, of Cox Park, will soon be taking Terry's 1950 MGTD up to Cape Wrath at the north western extremity of Scotland to commence the Cape to Cape run to Cape Cornwall.

The challenge will see them covering 1,500 miles of mainly B roads over the period from April 22 to 29. The route will include many tests of driving and navigational skills in company with 40 other classic cars.

Terry and Jeff, who are covering all expenses for the trip themselves, have been fundraising and signing up sponsors for some time and are well on the way to their £5,000 target.

Last Saturday well known local band 'Yorkie' played at a St Piran's dance at Harrowbarrow Village Hall and on Saturday March 10 a Big Breakfast is being held at Callington Town Hall in conjunction with Callington Methodist Table Tennis Club. Both events are to help the pair in their fundraising efforts.

All proceeds from these events will go towards the target and further events will be announced shortly.

Further information, tickets or sponsor forms can be obtained from Terry on 01579 383497 or Jeff on 01822 832109.
