A SPEEDY West Devon duo finished a successful season of racing with the runners-up position in the North Gloucestershire Formula 1 Sidecar Championships recently.
Dennis Guppy, aged 57, of Tavistock, and partner Tom Huxham, of Buckland Monachorum, drive a monster 1100cc machine which can travel in excess of 150mph.
'Next year with the help of our new sponsor John Smith Tyres of Callington we will hopefully be top dogs,' said Dennis.
'His help will enable us to fully tune our big Suzuki 1100cc engine to around 170bhp.'
The couple race one or two times every month, travelling to Wiltshire and South Wales for meetings.
Next year they are hoping the championships will be held closer to home, in North Devon.
