DUCHY College student Chloe Roberts is finishing her first year studying a National Diploma in Sport specialising in Football. Chloe is already in positive talks with universities in America and is hoping to gain full sports scholarship, once her second year of studying is completed. Chloe, 17, plays professionally for her club, Plymouth Argyle's ladies' team, and has already broken the South West combination league record for scoring over 41 goals in a season, which hasn't been broken for the last two seasons. She has also scored the most goals in one match for Plymouth Argyle's ladies' football team, which saw her skilfully score eight goals against Southampton Ladies' football club. Chloe also represents Devon County in football along with fellow Duchy students Nicky Lake and Rhianne Parsons and was part of the recent Duchy College ladies' team who enjoyed success in the British Colleges Sports National Football plate final last month. Her biggest achievement to date is being selected for the England ladies' U19's football training camp. Gary Jeffreys, sports development officer and Elite Ladies football manager at Duchy College adds: 'It is important to develop both academic and practical skills in the sports industry, it can further a young person's career prospects. 'Chloe is a perfect example for other young people who want to pursue their sporting aspirations. It has been a pleasure teaching and coaching a young adult with Chloe's excellent skills over the past year.'
