Kelly College 1st XI 1
Duchy College 0
Having the advantage of the wind in the first half, Kelly attacked and were unlucky not to take the lead. From a defensive clearance, George Ikamba lobbed the ball over the Duchy keeper into the empty net.
Solid defensive work from the back four, plus a lot of help from the midfield, ensured that Duchy became frustrated, almost allowing the Kelly forwards in towards the end.

A STUNNING goal from striker Mark Wright 20 minutes before the end proved to be the decisive moment between two evenly matched teams.
Kelly dominated the first ten minutes but forwards Ikamba and Wright were unable to convert.
Fine defending from Jon Bourne in goal, and Tshepo Legodi on his first team debut prevented Truro finding the net.
The second half saw Kelly step up a gear. A sweeping move down the right allowed Jan Breitsohl space to deliver a teasing cross into the box. Waiting to receive it was Wright who met the ball on the volley and watched it fly into the top corner.

THE first game of the season promised to be a real battle as Truro consisted of tall players who were all fourth year.
Kelly were put under pressure but weathered the first period well. Denis Connolly rifled home the first Kelly goal into the corner of the net.
Kelly grew in confidence, and played attractive football. Phil Jeffrey made countless interceptions to prevent an equaliser although Will Grainger did have to make a good save in the second half.
Kelly's Ed May ran onto a through-ball from midfield and slotted it past the keeper for a fine second goal.
