SDFL Division 5
Chagford Reserves 2
Paignton Saints Reserves 2
AS last week, Chagford started with pace and swept into an early two goal lead. For the first, Mortimore held off two defenders, deftly slid the ball through to his young strike partner Jon Scarry who calmly eased the ball past Harris.
The second goal came from a terrific move down Chagford's right flank. Philpott, Mortimore and Harvey all combined cutting through the Saints' defence for the latter to put in a cross, an unmarked Scarry nodding the ball home.
With just eighteen minutes gone Chagford looked in control but, within minutes they relaxed, allowing the visitors to work their way back.
Paignton gradually built their own forward play but had to wait until the 37th minute to score.
James Rogers was allowed to advance to a shooting position, his shot being well turned away by Swift but the ball falling for Joe Foster to tap in.
The opening 20 minutes of the second half saw both sides creating chances. Scarry and Cork both fired over the top, before Steve Rogers swung a free-kick just wide of the home goal. Scarry was sent through again by Mortimore, the youngster dragging his shot wide before Rob Thorn pulled off a great saving tackle.
Joe Foster was Saints saviour as he was sent through to slot the ball past Swift.
Despite both sides hoping for a winner it was not to be this week and a draw seemed the fair result.

Waldon Athletic 3
Chagford 3
CHAGFORD hoped to build on last week's win, against a Waldon team starting their first league match of the season. For Waldon, Gavin Fitzgerald scored twice and Curtis Booth once. Chagford scored through Andrew Davis and Jerome Whatley, an own goal allowing them to settle for a point.
The Firsts face tougher opposition with joint leaders Upton Athletic visiting.
The Reserves travel to divisional bottom club Broadhempston Reserves — both matches kick-off at 3pm.
