Tavistock Ladies 1st XI 1
Plym Valley 1
THE game started off at a fast pace with the home side quickly attacking the Tavistock goal. Tavistock conceded a goal within the first five minutes. Not a good start for the away team, but they soon settled and put together some good attacking play down both sides of the pitch. The play was end to end with nothing much between the two teams.
Tavistock were pushing hard and had many opportunities but the finishing touch was lacking.
The home side were dangerous on the break and the Tavistock defence of Colston, Boulle, Evans and Mill-Hicks had to work hard to keep the attackers out.
The away side managed to equalize not long before half time when Kate Eadie pushed the ball over the line.
The second half reflected the first with tough end to end play. White and Lamb worked well again on the right, with Lamb out pacing the defence to put in some good crosses. Gawman and McClumpha both had good games and were close to scoring on a number of occasions.
Towards the end of the game Tavistock had the closest chance to take the lead when a strike from Armstrong was stopped on the line.
With time running out Tavistock were just keen to hold the game to a draw and share the points.
The game duly ended at one all.
Tavistock's next game is at home against Okehampton on November 6.
