A YOUNG woman from Gunnislake had more than one reason to celebrate when she graduated from the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester on Saturday, October 8.

As well as achieving a distinction in her BSc (Hons) degree in equine management, Imogen Walker (pictured right) was also awarded the Worshipful Company of Farmers prize for the best dissertation in the school of agriculture.

Certificates and prizes were presented by Simon Coveney, the Irish Republic's Minister of Agriculture, Food and Marine, who is a former student of the college.

Imogen, of Calstock Road, Gunnislake, is a former pupil of Devonport High School for Girls and is now studying at the Royal Veterinary College.

RAC principal Prof Chris Gaskell said: 'I am delighted to congratulate Imogen on this well-deserved award for her hard work during her time at the RAC. Imogen is one of a growing number of high-achieving graduates leaving the Royal Agricultural College and I wish her every success for the future in, what I am sure will be, a very rewarding career.'
