I HAVE read in various publications, including yours, that the Cider House is to be opened to the public soon for the first time.

This beautiful garden has been opened under the National Gardens Scheme and for other charities for many years and I can throughly recommend a visit.

My only reservation would be that it would have needed very little attention other than a tidy up and the National Trust has a tendancy to over-egg the pudding where this is concerned. I appeal to them to leave it mainly as it is.
